When you are checking out college living arrangements, question whether or not the facility has the electric wiring needed to handle all computer equipment and other electronics which today’s students typically possess.
Most colleges  have strict rules about what students may or may not keep in their rooms. Pay attention to these rules. They are there for  your own safety, as well as that of all the other students in the building. Rules against cooking and halogen lamps in dormitory rooms, for example, have been enacted in response to their frequent role in starting campus fires.
