Never ignore fire
alarms, even when there have been false alarms in the recent past.
Know where fire
exits are, in your building and any you visit.
Have an escape plan
from your dwelling place(Young adults
aged 18-24 are the least likely to have one).
Keep hallways and
exits clear, to make it easier to escape and for rescue efforts.
Do not block hallway
doors open.
Maintain WORKING
smoke alarms.A large majority of fire
deaths now occur in occupancies which either lack alarms, or lack the
batteries to operate them.
(Bridge)If a fire DOES still break out in your
residence or another building where you happen to be at the time, the next
two slides provide some basic guidelines. What are some of them?
