Measuring Hot Water Temperature
§Run hot water
up to two minutes at tap
§Test temperature with
cooking thermometer
For the safety of everyone in the household, especially when it includes infants and elderly residents with thin skin, test the temperature of the hot water produced by your heater, using a cooking thermometer.
Begin by letting the water run for a minute or two, to allow the hot water from the tank to reach the faucet.
Then place the thermometer under the tap and record the temperature as the water runs over it.
