B. Steering Committee Report
The following individuals were elected by the MCTG membership to establish the first MCTG Steering Committee:
Dan Caruso MD (Daniel_Caruso@medprodoctors.com)
Linda Edelman RN (linda.edelman@hsc.utah.edu)
Tina Palmieri MD (Tina.Palmieri@ucdmc.ucdavis.edu)
Michael Peck MD (mpeck@med.unc.edu)
Karen Richey RN (Karen.Richey@hcs.maricopa.gov)
Jeffrey Saffe MD (jeffrey.saffle@hsc.utah.edu)
Steve Wolf MD (Steven.Wolf@CEN.AMEDD.ARMY.MIL)
The Steering Committee met in September in Park CityUT and in February in WashingtonDC. The committee has proposed an organizational structure for the MCTG (see attached) and composed by-laws.
Membership to the ABA-MCTG is open to all ABA members interested in burn research. Members are not expected to participate in all studies. Study proposals are encouraged from all disciplines and mentoring is available for novice researchers. Pharmaceutical involvement will be limited by the MCTG; however, the MCTG may become a good portal for industry sponsors to contact potential sites.
Michael Peck presented an overview of the proposed by-laws. The by-laws are posted on the MCTG website (abaresearch.org) for review by MCTG members. Please review the by-laws and send comments to Linda Edelman ( Linda.edelman@hsc.utah.edu ) by May 15, 2006.

Tina Palmieri MD reported on the State of the Science (SOS) Conference that will be held in conjunction with NIDR in BethesdaMDOctober 26-28, 2006. The State of the Science Conference (October 26) will define a national burn research agenda. The SOS and NIDR agendas will be posted on the ABA-MCTG website when finalized.
