Mississippi Burn, Hand and Reconstruction Center is seeking a highly skilled Burn & Reconstruction Surgeon to join our multidisciplinary team in Jackson, MS. This position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive surgical care to both adult and pediatric patients with burn injuries, complex wounds, hand injuries, and reconstructive needs. The Burn & Reconstruction Surgeon will participate in the full continuum of patient care, from initial evaluation, resuscitation and acute surgical management through outpatient follow-up, rehabilitation, scar management and long-term reconstruction. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to multidisciplinary burn care, excellent surgical and clinical judgement, and an interest in helping advance a growing burn, wound, hand and reconstruction surgery program.

Responsibilities
• Evaluate and manage adult and pediatric patients with acute burns, hand injuries and complex wounds and reconstructive needs in emergency, inpatient, operative and outpatient settings. • Provide comprehensive burn care from initial assessment and stabilization through operative treatment, wound closure, rehabilitation, scar management reconstruction and long term follow up. • Perform acute burn surgery, restorative and reconstructive surgery, depending on patient needs. • Participate in the management of critically-ill patients, including resuscitation, perioperative management and coordination of critical care services. • Communicate compassionately with patients and families regarding treatment plans, surgical procedures, recovery expectations and long-term care needs. • Participate in inpatient consultations, outpatient clinics, operative care, and call coverage as required by the practice. • Provide burn, hand and wound care education and outreach for physicians, nurses, emergency medical services, first responders, referring facilities and community partners.
Requirements
'Education: • MD/DO from an accredited medical school Required: • Board Certification/Board Eligible in General Surgery or Plastic Surgery • Eligible for an unrestricted Mississippi medical license • Eligible for hospital credentialing • Must obtain ABLS within one (1) year Preferred: • Fellowship-trained in burn surgery or substantial dedicated experience in the management of burn patients. • At least two years of experience in burn care and complex wound care • At least two years of experience and/or fellowship training in surgical critical care, plastic surgery, and/or trauma • Experience with laser scar management and reconstructive procedures • Board Certification/Board Eligible in Surgical Critical Care
