The ABA Poster Contest Has a New Focus  

This year’s contest invites burn survivors and children, including those attending burn camps, to express messages of awareness and resilience through their art. By empowering young burn survivors to share their unique stories, the contest raises public awareness about burn safety in a positive and inspiring way.

Who Can Participate? 

Children, young adults, and families, including those involved in burn camps or burn survivor communities, are encouraged to participate. No current ABA membership is required. 

Get Involved! Help inspire the world with your creativity. Encourage participation, spread awareness, and join ABA in celebrating the voices of young burn survivors. 

What Should the Posters Represent? 

Explore themes such as: 

  • Hope, strength, and resilience 

  • Personal reflections or creative expressions of your journey 

  • Empowerment, community, and the importance of support 

  • Anything else you wish to share! 

The goal is to foster empowering messages that connect with diverse audiences and celebrate the resilience of young burn survivors. 

Key Dates

  • Submissions open: Spring 2025 

  • Submission deadline: Tuesday, October 1, 2025 

  • Winners notified: Fall 2025 

  • Posters featured during: 

    • National Burn Awareness Week, February 2026 

    • ABA Annual Meeting, April 2026 

Prizes

Top three posters will receive monetary awards: 

  • 1st place: $500 

  • 2nd place: $300 

  • 3rd place: $200 

Submission Guidelines

  • Posters must be submitted digitally only

  • Handmade posters created with paint, markers, or crafts are welcome; please submit a clear, well-lit photo of the finished piece. 

  • Winners will be asked to provide a version without institutional logos for display during National Burn Awareness Week and the ABA Annual Meeting.

ABA promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion across all aspects of membership and participation, including but not limited to professional discipline, geographic region, age, gender identity, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, ability, and socioeconomic status. Posters that reflect diverse voices and experiences are encouraged. 

Important Notices

Posters for the 2025 ABA Poster Contest will be submitted digitally only. No physical copy will need to be submitted. All posters will be displayed digitally on the virtual platform.  

If the poster is created using arts and crafts materials, such as paint, markers, cut paper, or other physical items, please take a clear, well-lit photo of the finished piece and submit the image. Photo submissions of handmade posters are completely acceptable and encouraged! 

If your poster is selected as a winner, you’ll be asked to submit a version without any institutional logos. This version will be shared during National Burn Awareness Week in February 2026 and at the ABA Annual Meeting in April 2026.
