Verified Burn Fellowship Training Program (VBFTP)

Train the next generation. Elevate the standard.

The ABA’s Verified Burn Fellowship Training Program empowers your burn center to lead the way in developing tomorrow’s burn care specialists. By aligning with national standards and expert-backed criteria, verified programs stand out, demonstrating clinical excellence, consistency in training, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

For ABA-verified burn centers, fellowship verification is the next step in strengthening your workforce, attracting top candidates, and contributing to the long-term advancement of burn care. It’s not just about training but building a future of excellence.

Burn center verification is required before applying for fellowship verification.

Burn care doesn’t always get the spotlight in traditional surgical training, which means we're missing out on future leaders. We can spark a lasting interest in our vital work by reaching students, residents, and fellows early. A formal fellowship program turns that spark into a clear path forward.

How to Get Started with Fellowship Verification

Applying for ABA Fellowship Verification is a meaningful way to strengthen your program and showcase your burn center’s commitment to burn care education.

To begin, your burn center must already hold ABA Verification. Once that’s in place, the fellowship program can move forward through a brief application and review process that confirms alignment with ABA criteria.
