The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is seeking a burn surgeon at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to join the Division of Burn Surgery within the Department of Surgery and the Johns Hopkins Burn Center at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

About Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine
The successful candidate will join a high-volume academic burn program and work closely with the multidisciplinary burn care team while developing an academic career. The Johns Hopkins Burn Center is an American Burn Association-verified and Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services System (MIEMSS)-designated burn center and is the only adult burn center (age 15+) in the state of Maryland. The center provides comprehensive care across the full continuum of burn injury, including resuscitation, inhalation injury, critical care, operative management, reconstruction, rehabilitation, and long-term outpatient care. The Burn Center manages a high-volume and complex patient population, including more than 700 patients annually across inpatient and observation settings, in addition to thousands of outpatient encounters through dedicated Burn/Wound Clinics. The center includes a 10-bed Burn ICU, a 10-bed step-down unit, a dedicated operating room, and a specialized rehabilitation gym, allowing integrated multidisciplinary care for patients with complex burn injuries. As a member of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine faculty, the successful candidate will have access to extensive institutional resources in clinical and translational research, outcomes research, health services/policy research, surgical innovation, and medical education. Faculty are expected to participate in the education of residents, fellows, medical students, and other members of the burn care team. The Division of Burn Surgery provides a highly collaborative environment for professional growth. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide outstanding clinical care while contributing to the clinical, educational, research, and quality missions of the Burn Surgery Division and the Johns Hopkins Burn Center. Mentorship and support for academic advancement will be integral components of the position. Faculty will also participate in Burn Center quality improvement, American Burn Association verification activities, community outreach, burn prevention, and regional and national initiatives that advance the care of patients with burn injuries.
Requirements
-Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution. -Board eligible or board certified in General Surgery through the American Board of Surgery or Plastic Surgery through the American Board of Plastic Surgery. -Board eligible or board certified in Surgical Critical Care through the American Board of Surgery. -Eligibility for an unrestricted medical license in the state of Maryland. -Completion of a burn fellowship -Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) provider certification (to obtained within 6 months of appointment) and ABLS instructor certification within two years of appointment. -Academic credentials appropriate for appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
