The American Burn Association's Burn Prevention and Epidemiology Special Interest Group (SIG) invites you to join colleagues for a mid-year follow up discussion to the SIG's in-person meeting at the Annual Meeting. The meeting will focus on preparing for National Burn Awareness Week, program evaluations, outcomes, and research, and other topics of interest that members would like to discuss.  Whether you're looking to expand your knowledge or connect with peers in the field, this session provides a collaborative space for learning and professional development.

  • Message from ABA Burn Prevention Committee

  • National Burn Awareness Week: Ideas, Questions & Sharing Information

  • Burn Prevention Program Evaluations/Outcomes/Research

  • Ideas for Future Topics

  • Involvement Interest in the SIG

Speakers:

  • Tanya Sorkin, MSW (Children's Burn Foundation- Chief Program Officer)

  • Angela White, Ph.D., MPH, OHR (The Burn Center at MedStar Washington Hospital Center- ABLS Burn Prevention Education Coordinator)

Meeting Objectives:

 

  • Share National Burn Awareness ideas and strategies.

  • Discuss best practices and generate ideas for how to measure program outcomes, conduct evaluations, and share outcomes.

  • Share topics of interest for future meetings.

 

Who should attend: Burn Prevention Educators, Nurses, Burn Unit Directors, Students, and anyone interested in burn prevention education and epidemiology.
