Rehabilitation Committee Journal Club: Early Mobilization in Burn Care
July 9, 2026 | 3:00 – 4:00 PM CT

Join the American Burn Association’s Rehabilitation Committee for a Journal Club exploring current research and clinical guidance from ABA’s Journal of Burn Care & Research (JBCR) on mobilization in burn care. This interactive session will feature authors presenting recent findings related to mobility following skin grafting, the development of an early mobility algorithm for the burn ICU, and the implementation of clinical practice guidelines for critically ill burn patients.

Following the presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers during a live Q&A and discussion focused on translating evidence into clinical practice. Attendees are encouraged to review the featured articles and abstracts in advance to support discussion and maximize participation during the session.

Attendees will gain insight into:
• Current evidence regarding timing of mobilization following split-thickness skin grafting
• Development and application of an early mobility algorithm in the burn ICU
• Key recommendations from the ABA Clinical Practice Guideline on Early Mobilization and Rehabilitation of Critically Ill Burn Patients
• Practical considerations for implementing early mobilization strategies across the continuum of burn care
• Opportunities to discuss challenges, successes, and emerging trends with experts in burn rehabilitation
