Supporting Burn Survivors Through Psychological Recovery

Burn injuries affect more than the body—they reshape a person’s sense of self, identity, and daily life. Join the ABA Burn Psychosocial Special Interest Group (SIG) for a thoughtful discussion on the psychological impact of burn trauma and strategies to support long-term emotional healing. This session will explore the complex interplay between mental health, rehabilitation, and community reintegration, offering perspectives from both clinical practice and lived experience.

Attendees will gain insight into:

  • Evidence-based approaches for addressing trauma, anxiety, and depression following burn injury

  • Strategies to strengthen resilience and coping mechanisms during recovery

  • The role of interdisciplinary collaboration in supporting psychosocial outcomes

  • Practical tools for integrating mental health care into the continuum of burn care

Who should attend: Burn care professionals, mental health providers, rehabilitation specialists, and anyone involved in the holistic care of burn survivors.

This meeting is intended for ABA members only.

Please note: you must be registered for the meeting and will receive a zoom invite and URL link. If you do not receive that link upon registering, please get in touch with info@ameriburn.org.
