About the Fellowship:
This fellowship has been continuously filled since its inception in the 1980's, and in 2013 merged with the surgical critical care program. The entire training year takes place at Harborview Medical Center, a regional burn center and level 1 trauma center for the region. The Burn-Surgical Critical Care fellows participate in a wide range of experiences in the acute and long-term care of burn patients. This includes overseeing the management of acutely burned patients, as well as planning the surgical strategy for these patients. Fellows participate in the surgical management and lead the burn team in both critical and floor care. In addition, there is a wealth of experience in our scar management and burn reconstruction program, as well as an invaluable clinic/outpatient experience. There are two available positions in this track. This track combines clinical burn training and Surgical Critical Care training. Graduating fellows in this track will be eligible for Surgical Critical Care certification by the American Board of Surgery.
